CDBA Regional Dragon Boat Regatta CDBA Youth Race Once voted one of the top fresh water fishing destinations in the nation, Lake Merced in San Francisco, California is the race course for the nation’s largest high school dragon boat program. Each year local and out of town high school teams come to this historical site to take part in what is currently the largest high school youth race in the U.S. CDBA Sprint Dragon Boat Regatta Held at the pristine manmade waterway of Quarry Lakes in Fremont, California; local dragon boat teams come together with local outrigger teams for a day of racing. The sprint races are only 250 meters, covering half the distance from the traditional 500 meters, but at twice the speed and intensity. San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival Held on the same grounds of the 1939 World Fair and a former home of our proud naval force, Treasure Island provides our largest race one of the most beautiful race courses in the nation. In addition to the backdrop of the Bay Bridge and the skyline of San Francisco in the foreground, spectators are provided an unobstructed shoreline giving them the perfect view of one of the most competitive dragon boat races in North America. This race, draws over 50,000 spectators and more than 100 domestic and international dragon boat teams.
